River City Arts will be accepting werks for their Exhibition "Achievement" which opens Friday March 19, 2010 and closes Saturday April 16, 2010

SPECIFICATIONS:
Artists may submit up to 4 pieces of werks. 2d and 3d will be accepted. All 2d pieces must be wired and ready for hanging, 3d pieces will be placed on tables/shelves.

Multiple submissions are welcome -
Deadline for submissions to arrive in the gallery is Monday March 15, 2010 Submissions may be dropped off at River City Arts 310 West Johnston Street Smithfield, NC 27577 please call or email to make arrangments/appointment [email protected] Kirk Adam 919 601 3131 There isn't a submission fee or a commission fee, however, donations are gladly accepted.
The organizers retain the right to refuse any unsuitable werk.
RCA is an Artspace/Artplace that has exhibition gallery space as well as space for meetings, classes, workshops, etc. RCA is located in historic Downtown Smithfield, NC and participates in Smithfield's "Third On Third", a monthly art event that involves several venues of art that takes place the Third Friday of each month around Third Street.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 - 6:00 pm and by appointment
Third On Third - 7:00pm till Midnight. Smithfield's Downtown Night of Art, Culture, Cinema, Dinning, Music, Sometimes Theater and lots of Scene-steers in and around Third Street the Third Friday of each month! 7pm until Midnight. RCA has their Opening/ Receptions during Third On Third.
Folding Chair Cinema - 7:00 pm. FCC is a monthly installment of Independent Film. Join us the Third Saturday of each month as we screen independent film. In keeping with the theme of the Third annual AG Indie Film Fest, we are "Getting People Interested In Film".
Guitar & Bass Lessons - If you are serious about learning to play guitar or bass, why don't you take lessons with an experienced, dedicated, patient, and fun guitar teacher in Smithfield? Beginning & Intermediate, Electric or Acoustic. Age 10 and up. Learn technique, theory, rhythm, and so much more. Day, afternoon and evening. Classes are 30 minutes in length, 4 classes per month and the cost is $60 per month. Printed material included.
Volunteer: Please consider volunteering with RCA. Gallery sitters, Art handlers, hospitality, etc. All we ask for is a smile :)

A Call to Artists:
Artists For Tomorrow’s Artists: A Benefit for Neuse Charter School’s Art Department
Smithfield, N.C. – The Exhibition Director of River City Arts, has put out a call for local, regional, national and international artists to create art for a benefit for Neuse Charter School’s Art Department.
The exhibition opens Friday April 16, 2010 and closes on Sunday May 11, 2010. All proceeds from the art exhibition will go to The Art Department of Neuse Charter School and designated to benefit Tomorrow’s Artists, the Art Students of Neuse Charter School.
Neuse Charter School is a free public school that currently offers instruction to approximately 325 students in K-8Th grades. NCS has been just approved for high school grade levels. Charter schools rely on monetary donations, grants, and volunteerism to bridge the gap between government funding and the school's operating cost.
Kirk Adam is also the Fine Arts Teacher at NCS.

Open to all artists of any level and any country - everyone is welcome to contribute
Help Neuse Charter School’s Art Department by donating an unframed work on paper or a 3D work to the Artists for Tomorrow’s Artists art sale.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Work on paper or light board any size, but no larger than 11 x 17 inches (maximum size: 29 cm x 43cm)
Any medium such as: drawing, painting, collage, photography
All works must be unframed and unsigned - the work needs to be signed on the back (also include your city and country)
Work will be hung using clips, so avoid using heavy materials.
3D works is accepted as well and will be placed on tables.
Each artwork will be sold for $25.00
The artists will remain anonymous until after sale

The artists will only sign the back of the work, therefore they remain anonymous to the guests of the exhibition until after sale. The guests to the exhibition have a chance to purchase the works of established international artists for a fraction of their regular cost.

We encourage artists from all over the world to send their drawings & 3d works and please pass the word about this exhibition to other artists.
